Hello all,

SMS 2003 [just upgraded to SP3]

1. I Recently moved from one contract to another. In my old SMS console, I
was able to see a "NODE" tab on collections. I believe I have Admin
privileges but still do not have this tab on my console. Node tab was not
there prior to or after SP3 upgrade. Does anyone have any ideas on how to be
able to see this tab?

2. When we upgraded to SMS 2003 SP3 at my old contract, we were provided
with the ability to create folders in the console to help organize
collections. After upgrading to SP3 on the new contact, we do not have this
ability. Are there extra steps we need to take to be able to create folders
for collections?

Thank you,
\Darren

1. Add /SMS:NodeInfo=1 to your admin console shortcut
http://www.myitforum.com/articles/1/view.asp?id=6362
2. Creating folders should be there. That's built in. Perhaps you're
using an old admin console instance (just thinking)? If you run the admin
console from the primary site server interactively logged in, can you create
folders? If so, I'd uninstall/reinstall the admin console on your
workstation. If that doesn't work, I'd log a call with Microsoft to figure
that one out.

Thank you Sherri :)
node tip worked like a charm.
Have already tried uninstall/reinstall of console. Admin console when RDP'd
to server has same issue. Cannot create folders on that console either.
Do you happen to know what version range verifies the console is SP3? I
know that I used the autorun.exe for SP3 to install my workstation console.

Since you've verified creating folders from the server's console also doesn't
work, it won't be the console version. It was just a thought.

I don't mean to be offensive, but just to double-check... once someone
mentioned they couldn't move packages to subfolders because the option wasn't
there, and it turned out they weren't right-clicking on the correct place in
the console.

So, before you call Microsoft, on the root of the collections branch,
right-click, and look at each option carefully. I don't have a console in
front of me, but I want to say it's right-click New--> folder.

Absolutely no offense taken. Often enough, it is the simple and/or obvious
things we overlook.

It was most definately "new/folder" that I was looking for [both on the root
of collections and on several individual collections]. Just in case, I have
now looked through the entire menu when right clicking on root collection or
sub-collection.

Unfortunately, only employees [not contractors] can initiate the next step
of contacting Microsoft for this type of issue and I don't know if they will.

Oh well, tried my best. Thank you :)
