Edit Registry SNMP TrapConfiguration

I'm trying to add additional Trap destination and it begins with a % such as
%m55Rst

Apparently it will not edit nor create a key with a leading %.

Is there a workaround for this.... we need the leading %

This is the what it looks like when I copy it out of SMS Installer

item: Check Disk Space
end
item: Edit Registry
Total Keys=1

Key=SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SNMP\Parameters\TrapConfiguration\%m55Rst
New Value=co-sms
Value Name=1
Root=2
end
