Hi all

I am experiencing problems uploading documents to a document library
in WSS 2.0 After selecting the file and clicking on "Save" everything
seems to work except for the fact that the document *doesn't* show up!
No error message, nothing at all.

The problem doesn't seem to happen when working directly on the LAN,
just when the portal is accesed from internet with the public name.

By the way, both the "New" button and the web folders on "My network
places" work as expected.

Thanks

The fact that you are clicking on Save indicates to me that you are not
using the WSS 2.0 UI's "Upload Document" function.

That will in my experience show the document after OK is clicked.

Try doing it that way.

If you are doing it some other way you might need to refresh the page after
doing it; (and make sure the View you have set will include the document you
have just added !)

Thanks, Mike

After pressing "Upload document" and "Browse" and selecting the file,
I press "Save and close" which is, I guess, the normal way to upload a
document. Afterwards, I select the "All documents" view, and the
document isn't there. Refreshing (F5) doesn't help either. By the way,
uploading more than one file fails too. Copying to web folders works
as expected, though.

Interesting. The only thing I can think of is that the definition of the All
Documents view has been amended and it now no longer lists every document.

This seems unlikely :) but then I've never heard of Upload Document not
working either ...

Make sure you dont have the document approval feature 'ON'. In that
case the documents will be visible in the Approve documents tab and
not in the document library.

You will have to either remive the approval feature or sign in as the
site administrator and approve all the pending documents for them to
show up.

Out of luck, document approval is disabled. It has to be related with
some IE setting or the like. Remeber the clue: it *does* work when
connecting locally (i.e. http://mywssmachine/site/doclibrary) but not
thru the public name of the machine (http://wss.company.com/site/
doclibrary)
