Hi,

Does anybody know if its possible to autheticate using windows
authentication from a Winforms Application into a Sharepoint Site.
And if it is possible , then how ?

And not using the WSS Web Serivces but using the object model.

Thanks for any ideas given,

You are probably unaware that we have a subnewsgroup that specializes in WSS
Programming (defined as creating web parts; using web services and coding)
which is where the experts on your type of question (using the object model)
are to be found.

Please post this message there.
(microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices.development)

This main newsgroup is for everything that isn't in the list above - thus
mainly for administrating the product as delivered.

Don't let the newsgroup police scare you off. If you're not sure where
to post, you have to post somewhere. I've set the "Followup-To" header
to the more appropriate newsgroup, so if you reply, your newsreader
should be smart enough to put your reply in the correct spot. :)

The object model really doesn't do you any good coming from a remote
machine (it's really meant for use on the front-end web servers
themselves). You should use the SharePoint web services to get what you
need, and yes, they can use integrated security (so-called "NT"
authentication).
