Has anyone else experienced a problem with running the MSI package for
Jan Tielen's Leadit.SharePoint.Essentials web parts? I'm using the
1.1.2.0 version on a Virtual Machine. I get to the point about updating
the GAC, but then I get the following error:

---------------------------
Setup
---------------------------
Setup has encountered an error during installation and must close. For
more information, see C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\wppackger.log
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

If I look at the wppackger.log file, it's empty (0 bytes)

The event log has the following application event listed:

Product: Lead-it SharePoint Essential Webparts -- Installation failed.

I am running a VM with Windows 2003 SP1, WSS SP1 and the KB887981
patch. I'm using the WMSDE database, installed to a non-default
directory.

I've been able to install the MSI on other servers, without any issues.

Thanks

Ivan

I've not attempted an install with the configuration you describe.
All my installations of the Leadit tools have gone off without a hitch.
Have you tried to contact Jan about this?

Thanks
C

I've got the same problem and finally figured out it is SP1. If you
can uninstall SP1 then Lead-it should install for you.

I'm going to write Jan about this so he can update it.

Hope this helps.
