Hello,

wof....finally i can solve the problem, the problem is with the installation.

When u install WSS, choose the option "Server Farm", this will install WSS alone, once it is installed it will ask to configure the application pool, there u select the "Use an existing application pool" (it can be re-configured later for the virtual server u create in the application pool section under "Extend Virtual Server") and select MSSharePointAppPool...
Now, it's all set to configure ur database using "Share Point Central Administration" page.

Happy WSS admin.....

Hello,

I installed WSS in windows-2003 server,
I created a Virtual Project in IIS 6.0
Also, i create a database in SQL-2000 Server.

Now i want to give WSS Service to the project which i created in iis. The problem is from the "Share Point Central Administration" if i "Set Configuration Database" under "Server Configuration" it's throwing "Unable to get global configuration data.", for that matter if i try click any link in the configuration database i am getting the same error finally.
Please help
