Sharepoint My Site customisation

I am currently trying to modify the private view template for personal
sites but any changes I make to the aspx file does not filter through
to my current personal site, any changes I make to the public version
does though.

The file I am modifying for private views is:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server
extensions\60\TEMPLATE\1033\SPSMSITE\default.aspx

and the public file is publix.aspx

Does anyone know why the changes I make to default.aspx are not
filtering through to my own private site? I want to alter the number
and positions of web part zones, add\remove some default web parts to
all private My Sites.

As you are probably aware MySite only comes with SharePoint Portal Server
2003 and not with any of the various (other) implementations of Windows
SharePoint Services (this newsgroup).

Could you therefore please post this question to the SharePoint Portal
Server newsgroup at microsoft.public.sharepoint.portalserver instead.
