I have domain (call it domain A) that trusts a much larger domain (domain B)
almost all the users using my sharepoint site are in the Domain B Active
Directory. When a user logs in the site, instead of saying 'Welcome Real
Name' in the top right hand corner, it says 'Welcome DomainB\login' and when
a user tries to edit their personal settings and update their user
information, there is no option to update all the fields (Name, Work e-mail,
About Me, etc) would this be because the info is pulled from Domain B active
directory into Domain A? The trust is only one way.

I am having the same problem on a simple one-server, fresh install
(not upgrade) of Sharepoint Server 2007. I am not using domains -
just basic user accounts on the server. Having exactly the same
results as you describe. Worked fine before moving to 2007.

On another server with essentially the same setup - i.e. basic user
accounts on a single server - things work fine in this regard
(although I can't get the search service to start up on that one).
This one was an (extremely painful) upgrade from a basic v2 site.
