Verify in the advanced settings that the path in Central Administration for
the Mail Drop folder is correct. I had a similar problem a while back and the
path was incorrect. I corrected the path and the problem was corrected.

Does the "from" address of the sender match a user that has been given
access to the site? If not, is anonymous access enabled?

Yes, the from address of the sender have contributer permission. also on the
documents email security policy selected the option allow e-mail messages
from any sender!!..

Yes Ed, The path of the folder is correcrt its the default.. is there any
thing I have to check..

Yesterday when I was doing the test the sharepoint service server stopped
responding to telnet port 25. finally i have to reinstall the SMTP again.. is
the problem with SMTP? but now i can do telnet to port 25 of this server!!!

SMTP is what sits on port 25, not SharePoint. SMTP receives the mail on
port 25, then it writes it to a directory. SharePoint (via the SharePoint
Timer Service) monitors that directory and pulls message out when they come
in. If port 25 stops responding then SMTP is the problem not SharePoint and
incoming email will not work again until SMTP starts listening on port 25
again.

Sorry Tk,
The SMTP problem was nothing to do with this, it was an relay issue and that
is sorted now but I still have the problem. I'm pasting the log here

Is there a user on that site that has an email address in that Site
Collection that matches the one the email was from? In this case "itkb." If
you look at the mail file in Notepad does the from address look correct?

Hi Tk,
Thanks for the follow up. I think I have found the problem, the WS service
Timer service was running with the same account which was the application
pool for the SharePoint, when I changed that service to Network service I
started to receive the email.
I still don’t know what permission have to give for that user account, the
user account have the delegate control access for one OU in my AD also local
admin for the SharePoint service server..

But now I have a new strange problem, mails and attachment sending to itkb
is working perfect now.. I have moved my SharePoint site to https 128 bit
encryption. Enabled another directory email enabled and set the same
permission which was given to itkb. But the attachment which sending to new
directory not saving the attachment to the directory. But i can see the email
which I send but not the attachment. is this something to do with my SSL but
still itkb is working fine without problem.

Thanks, Jibs
