I am having a bit of a connectivity problem, when connecting through a VPN.

I can connect to the dashboard site (http) and with the client (network
places) when I am on the local LAN.

I can also connect to the dashboard site (http), but NOT with the client
(network places) when i am connected via VPN.

I am not using FQDN - only http://netbios_server_name/workspace

When I attempt to setup the Network Place, it seems like it does see the
server and workspace, but all I get is repeated authentication prompts.

Any ideas or similar experiences?

thanks,
-h

Also, I am sure that name resolution is working to the server netbios name,
because the dashboard site does work.

Also, I am sure that the sharepoint client is installed and working because
I can connect to a local SPS server, just not to the one through the VPN.

thanks,
