Is there an easy way to make an exact copy of an existing
Sharepoint Portal 2003 Site? The reason I am asking is
because we want to make a copy of our live Sharepoint
Portal site that we can test things on.

Thanks for any help in advance

If it was me, I would just backup the Site/Portal, then on the test server
just restore the Site/Portal.

You could use, STSadm.exe (site) or SPSbackup.exe (portal)

Unfortunatly, I wanted them both to sit on the same
server. When I try to restore to a different Portal, it
says that it cannot do it because that Site ID already
exists.

Is there any other way?

Thanks

Bob

There are a couple of other options:

1. Use smigrate

2. Use FP2003 and copy the site that way
