Hi
We have chosen not to use My Site features. That means we have removed the
rights to Create My Site. So far so good.
BUT whenever someone create or edit a list item, document, announcement, and
so on, then a link appear with the users name below the item (Created by or
By). When you click this link then the My Site for the user appear (even
though the user has not created a My Site).
What I want the link to do is to display the simple Sharepoint user
information.

Any suggestion on how I can accomplish this?

Hi JeyLey,

When you clicck the user account link, which account has the permission to
create the personal site, SPS will show his personal my site to you. If the
user doesn't have the permission to create the personal site, SPS will
display the user information page for you.

You can create one site group under SPS with the four permissions below to
test this.
1.View Area - View an area and its contents
2.View Pages - View pages in an area
3.Add Items - Add items to lists, add documents to SharePoint document
libraries, add Web Discussion comments
4.Edit Items - Edit items in lists, edit documents in SharePoint document
libraries, and customize Web Part Pages in SharePoint document libraries

Please feel free to let me know if you have any question.

We still end up on My Site, even though the user doesn't have access to
create a My Site.
BUT we are using Profiles, imported from Active Directory. It seems like
users in the profile list is displayed on a read only My Site.

Problem solved for us. Thank you.
