I am trying to "Create Project Web Access Site" within my Sharepoint server
farm.

The process appears to start correctly - it comes up with "Waiting for
Resources", but after that, the entry disappears (I assume this is when the
timer event fires). There are no errors logged anywhere, even with verbose
logging turned on for everything, but the Project Web Access Site is never
created.

Has anyone encountered this before, or can anyone give me any ideas on how
to determine what is going on here (considering that there is nothing in any
of the logs)?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I have the same problem too. I was able to get it working by creating a
new SSP with a different name however the problem came back after mucking
around the PWA sites and recreating/deleting SSP's :O(

Have you found a solution yet?

I haven't got a resolution to this yet. I will let you know if I come up with
anything. Thanks for letting me know that creating a new SSP didn't seem to
make a difference - that was the next thing that I was going to try.

Can you give more details on what you've tried to correct this, and what
service pack/cu you have installed on your servers?

I am running MOSS enterprise, SP2 (recently applied SP2 in attempt to fix
the problem - previously I was running SP1 when the problem initially
appeared)
My landscape has a single front end web server, and a separate project server.

Originally the project server was functioning OK - this server was then
removed, and a new server added. Since this server has been added, I am
getting the problem described above. Adding the original server back in
doesn't seem to help.

I am not that keen to create a new ssp - seems a bit of a dodgy workaround -
as you have experienced, it doesn't reall seem to fix the root cause of the
issue - seems to be more of a workaround than anything.

Please let me know if you come up with anything and I will do the same.

Just to let you know, we have managed to sort this out - it turns out that
the project server binaries had not been installed on one of the servers in
the farm - it was showing as "Not Configured" as it is only running SQL
server reporting services, and so apparently it was not thought necessary to
install it. After installing the binaries on this server (and re-running the
config wizard for this server), I have been able to create the PWA sites.
