Microsoft Sharepoint 3.0

I recently downloaded the Microsoft Sharepoint 3.0. I tried to CREATE a
website from the Site Settings. But apparently, I get an ERROR message.

Can anyone help me why? Am I missing something?

There are two "SharePoint 3.0" applications.

Are you asking about WSS 3.0 (Windows SharePoint Services 3.0) or Microsoft
Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007) ?

When supplying that info, please put more meat on your question. Did your
installation work; what was the state after your installation; what did you
then do; which error message are you getting etc. etc.

With more information someone here might be able to help
