Is it possibile to read/change the protection and/or the authorization for
of a given registry key?
object.RegWrite allows weriting the value, while I need to read/change the
protection.

You can change the registry permissions using REGINI - see the following for
more info:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/237607

Not sure how you would read them though but since REGINI replaces current
permissions with the ones you specify you may not need to check them first.

You could also use the command line tool SUBINACL which you can download
from Microsoft.
