I have been using IActiveScript for many years and recently I am getting an
unhandled exception when I try to close IActiveScript. The script runs fine
and does what it is supposed to do - I just can't call Close().

I can run VB scripts with the same S/W and the call to Close works OK.
I am running Win XP SP3 with IE8.
