Hi All,

My WinXP_Home & IE6 SP3 work fine all the time. Lately (no known reason!), I
can't open the frequent hyperlinks with javascript. ( eg:
javascript:parent.fnDisplayBasketUpdates(); )

I did uninstalled JAVA, cleared all history & cookies, temporary files and
re-installed with JavaSetup6u17, but still no response when click on any of
the javascript hyperlinks

When I use another PC of same O/S & IE6 with similar JAVA installation and
via same ISP networks, I have no problem to open the same javascripts on
hyperlinks. I re-check all the Internet options settings which are the same
for the two PCs I use.

Any help to solve this problem is appreciated.

Alan

No idea what the problem is, but it's very likely nothing to do with your
Java install.
Javascript/jscript is not connected to Java - any similarity is in name
only.

Perhaps if you could provide a small example of what used to work but now
does not, someone will have a suggestion.

The javascripts on hyperlinks I used to open without any problem are
normally the Internet Banking URLs and also this one:
javascript:parent.fnDisplayBasketUpdates();

Lately, when click on these (same) URLs, no response at all, however, the
normal hyperlinks are not affected.

When I use another PC of same O/S & IE6 with similar JAVA installation and

via same ISP networks, I have no problem to open the same URLs.
I re-check all the Internet Options settings which are the same for the two
PCs I use.

Is there an error on the page?

Java has as much to do with JavaScript as a Car does with a Carpet.

Sounds like javascript is disabled in your browser.
