The saga continues. . .I posted here a while back because
I was getting a fatal exception error every time I tried
to install Publisher 2002. It still won't install on that
computer, but I have another one that I was able to get it
to work on. In fact, it worked perfectly. But I kept
getting that window telling me I had to register my
software. So after a week or so, I registered it. After
that, I can no longer access the help files or any clip
art at all.

I should also note that I installed a game on my computer
after Publisher, and I can't remember if I used Publisher
during the week after I installed the game. So I'm not
sure if it quit working after I installed the game or
after I registered the software.

But anyway, here's what I've done so far:
1. I ran set up again, the fix errors version. Still
didn't work.
2. I uninstalled the game I had installed, and I deleted
a bunch of other stuff I don't use. Shut down, powered
off.
3. Uninstalled Publisher, shut down, powered off.
4. Installed Publisher again. Still didn't work
5. Uninstalled Publisher.
6. Installed the XP Media whatever CD. Then installed
Publisher. THE HELP AND CLIP ART STILL DON'T WORK!!

Can somebody please help me? I could probably get by
without the help screens (although I should have to), but
I need the clip art.

Hi Nicole,

What operating system and browser version are you using?

Are you getting error messages or just 'nothing'? If it's a 'send to Microsoft message. copy the two line error signature from the
'click here' link on that box and please paste it into a reply to this message.

Can you run MS Clip Gallery from Start=>Programs=>Microsoft Office Tools?

If you restart the PC in safe mode can you use Help or the Clip Organizer?

5. Uninstalled Publisher.

Windows 98, and I'm not sure which version of IE I have.
I just dug this computer out of a closet that it's been
sitting in for a year, so I don't an internet connection
for it at the moment.

>Are you getting error messages or just 'nothing'?

For the clip art, it says it's going to install the clip
organizer (I think) and then it says it can't. For the
help, nothing happens. I hit F1 or I go up do the little
help drop-down box and type in my question. It gives me a
list of options, but when I hit the button next to the
option, nothing happens.

I think I tried that (or something similar) and I can't.

>If you restart the PC in safe mode can you use Help or
the Clip Organizer?

I haven't tried that yet, but I can.

By the way, Windows help doesn't work now either, but I
can get Help in Word. What's the deal?

Thanks for your help!
