I want to disable add on in PPT 07. I have found the location in PowerPoint
options but cannot un-check the programs to be disabled. I get a window
saying only the administrator can do this.

I am on a personal laptop with Vista Home Premium. I would assume I am
already the admin.

Any thoughts?

Assuming isn't the same as knowing.

Try this:

Control Panel | User Accounts | Manage another account

It may dim the screen and ask for your permission, but that's ok.
If it lets you manage other accounts, your an admin.
If not, then not.

I am the admin ... the only other account is a guest account which is turned
off.

Hmm. ISTR that you can have an account with Admin privileges but in some cases
you need to log in under the actual administrator acct set up by Windows (and I
don't know how to do that in Vista ... All Vista Hands On Deck, Please).

But in the meanwhile, what add-in is it that you want to disable?

Hi,
Try this:

1. Locate PowerPnt.exe (usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\2007\Office12)
2. Right-click the executable and choose 'Run as Administrator'
3. Once launched you should be able to disable the add-in.

aHA. Nice.

And if Run As Administrator's not available, hold down Shift while
rightclicking.

TechSmith has an extensive support site; you might want to try there:

http://techsmith.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/techsmith.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php

If you can't find an answer there, you may need to uninstall it, then reinstall it w/o
the add-in.
