Converting "Microsoft Office Powerpoint 79-2003 Presentation" to .ppt?

Hi,

I had Powerpoint2007 for 3 months in my laptop then I installed
Powerpoint2000 with no problem. However, my powerpoint files now have
this file type: "Microsoft Office Powerpoint 97-2003 Presentation"

I have a webite I created where some words are hyperlinked to some
powerpoint files I have downloaded. The problems starts when I click
on a words that is hyperlinked to a powerpoint file it doesn't open!

I get window saying:

Name: ABC.ppt
Type: Unknown File Type

And when I click on "Find" it takes me to a Microsoft link!?

How can I fix this file type problem?

As a general rule, and especially with MS Office, you never want to install
older versions of software after you've installed newer ones. Always start
with the oldest then install newer versions.

If you really need both versions on your computer, I'd uninstall everything to
do with Office, then install 2000 again, and finally 2007.
