Office Enterprise 2007 is installed on two systems with Windows XP Service
Pack 3.

Computer 1: Office PowerPoint 2007 (12.0.6504.5000) SP2 MSO (12.0.5425.1000)
Computer 2: Office PowerPoint 2007 (12.0.4518.1014) MSO 12.0.4518.1014)

The problem I have is the Pointer Options menu (accessed from within a slide
show) does not work on Cmoputer 1.

Computer 2 is able to use the Ballpoint Pen, Felt Tip Pen and Highlighter
tools. When I select those tools on Computer 1, the pointer stays as an arrow
and I'm unable to annotate slides.

Suggestions on this site for Office 2003 have been to install the
Handwriting Component under Office Shared Features. I don't see this option
on either computer.

Any other ideas?

I thought maybe it was an issue caused by SP2, which is installed on
computer 1 but not on computer 2, however, this doesn't seem to be the case.
I have SP2 installed here, and I can use the ballpoint pen, felt tip pen and
highlighter tools in slide show view.

Looking for the Handwriting components. Windows Control Panel | Add-Remove
Programs | Office 2007, Change. I also don't see anything promising under
Office Shared Features or Office Tools.

I know this isn't an answer, but hopefully it will help determine what it's
not.

As a possible workaround, try Ctrl+P during a show to select the pen.

OK. It sounds as though you do get the popup menu when you rightclick a slide,
though, is that correct?

Yes. I get a menu with options for "Next" "Previous" "Go To Slide" "Pointer
Options" and others.

All I can think to try at this point is Diagnostics ... Office Button | PowerPoint Options |
Resources | Diagnose

See if that comes up with any problem reports or suggestions.

No errors from that.

Thanks for the suggestions.
