Subject: Keyboard Skins in WM2003SE
I installed Tweaks2k2.NET and there was an option to skin the keyboard. I
enabled it and I think it's great.
A) Is there any way to do this in the registry, or by some means other than
T2k2 or KeybSkin?
B) Assuming the "skin" is enabled, other than using KeybSkin (which did not
work on my HP iPAQ rx3115 with WM2003SE), can I change the skin color (e.g.
to rgb 0,64,64 or rgb 0,128,128)?

Thanks.

Scotty

That's not a registry trick. Basically you can create any skin in bmp format
and use it in your keyboard buy placing it in a .mui file. That mui file
will replace the resources of msim.96.dll or msim.192.dll. the mui files has
to be named msim.96.dll.0409.mui or msim.192.dll.0409.mui   where the last
for digits are the laguage code. 96 means QVGA and 192 means VGA.

the rx3115 is a QVGA machine and if your ROM is in English with a language
code 0409 I don't see any reason why keybskin would not work in your PPC.

BTW, if you tested KeyBSkin in your device after you installed ozVGA (I read
it in your other post), of course my program is not going to work, in fact,
I really think that you should do a hard reset of  your machine. My friend
you can't convert a QVGA machine into a VGA no matter how hard you try. ;-)

here all all the details you need, by checking the .mui file with a
resource hacker you will have all the information you need.

I was able to hack the .mui file with a couple of resource hackers on my PC,
but I coudn't replace the one on my Pocket PC with the new one.

Maybe because it's already busy by system?
Move origanal file to other directory then copy new and reset.
