From what I understand, there is no version of MS Reader for Windows Mobile
v. 6.0. Is this a true statement? Has Microsoft dropped support for Reader
for new versions of Windows?

Windows Mobile is a generic os term which encompasses both the
dissimilar pocketpc and smartphone platforms, and, while it is true
there is no reader for the smartphone platforms, the pocketpc version
should load and run with no problems on any of the pocketpc versions of
windows mobile including version 6 and above.

afaik, msreader is the only app that supports .lit files but others such
as mobipocket have ppc reader apps for other ebook formats.

pocketpc apps are installed on the sync pc, not the ppc itself... see;

Beverly's instructions worked fine for me. I was able to download the spanish
dictionary and the Book Reader onto my Tilt phone. It seems to work great as
long as you install it from the main PC. I noticed that the Reader installs
in the AciveSync folder. That in turn activated my smartphone automatically.
It worked fairly smoothly as soon as I quit trying to open the program
directly from my mobile device. I placed the spanish dictionary in the
program file of the Reader on the phone. I hope this helps someone else.

The link listed below is no longer a live link. I have downloaded version
2.4.1 and run the installation on my sync computer for use on my Windows
Mobile 6.0 Samsung BlackJack II. I get an "Unsupported Device Type" error.
"Microsoft Reader does not support the connected device type. Application
Manager will make the application available for installation when a supported
device type is connected."

Is there a newer version of MS Reader available for my phone or is there
another product that will read MS Reader files?

Any help would be geatly appreciated.
