Hi,
I installed ActiveSync 4.5 on my XP-SP2 machine.
Whenever Activesync starts, I get this error:

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002)"

A search for 0xc0150002 returned a KB article, but that referes to Office
and SP1a, but I have SP2.

Any idea how I can fix this?
Activesync 4.2 runs fine, but I need 4.5 for a WM6 upgrade.

Thanks,

Oliver

A search from the net with the term "The application failed to initialize
properly (0xc0150002)" has lots of results without a good solution.

Basically, the problem occurs with applications created by Microsoft Visual
Studio 2005 and run on XP with SP2.

Apparently, XP with SP2 does not support applications built by Microsoft
Visual Studio 2005. You have to install something before it can work.

OK, but WHAT could that be? I have installed the .NET Framweork 1.1 / 2.0/
3.0 with all latest patches/ SPs.

OK, I solved it.

I completely uninstalled all .NET Frameworks (1.1, 2.0 and 3.0).
Then I downloaded Microsofts' Framework uninsteller from here:
http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2005/04/08/406671.aspx
and removed all garbage that the uninstallers left behind.

Then I did a reboot and reinstalled the Frameworks.
After that I uninstalled Activesync 4.2 and installed Activesync 4.5 and
voila: This time it worked!

Let me know if it works for you!

Oliver
