Testing Smart Card Mini Driver

Hello All,
I was trying to test my mini driver using certutil -scinfo utility. I see that CardAcquireContext() being called from the mini driver by the utility hangs at "Analyzing card in reader" and does not proceed further. Also, I do not see any other routines being invoked in mini driver.
I'm not sure but I believe that the utility is looking for certificates installed on the smart card. At this point the smart card does not contain any data or certificates. Do I need to install any certificates on card to move further? If so, how can install a sample certificate?... more »

CardAcquireContext not called from CryptoAPI App without using card reader?

I am trying to write minidriver for cardreader and right now I dont have any smart cardreader. So I wrote one mindriver in which I am exporting cardAcquireContext function along with other function.Then I wrote one application which is using crypto APIs (for eg cryptoAcquireContext to get handle to key container) which can call my minidriver cardAcquireContext. CryptVerifyDetachedMessageSign ature returns NTE_BAD_LEN

I'm having a problem with some code that uses CryptVerifyDetachedMessageSign ature to verify a signature blob (the code is essentially the standard code sample for using this function). The code works on XP, but on Windows 7 will for some users fail verification with an NTE_BAD_LEN error. The documentation on MSDN seems to suggest this error shouldn't be returned by this function. Anyone seen this before, or even have any ideas where to start looking for a cause?... more »

hi,
i try to make minidriver for some smart-card. At the moment i use "certutil -scinfo" just to make some testing. And i do not communicate with the card, i just emulate that there are keys on card, but it does not matter because Base CSP does know that, yep?
The question is why certutil does not find keys/containers? It tells that it finished succesfully but it set of keys is not found.... more »

I'm desperately looking for proof that there is a genuine Microsoft restriction on AD Domain users who are members of the local Administrators group with UAC enabled not having access to the Kerberos TGT Session Key. I have SSO implemented in Java using Kerberos for my application, but we have recently faced the problem in Windows 7 that Administrator users with UAC enabled fail to login automatically via SSO because of the Kerberos TGT restriction.... more »

After rebooting the logon with smart card works perfectly. But if I log off and
