The result of the auto-red-eye fix varies depending on the
intensity of the red color...or green as in a dog's eye.

Try this...with your image on screen in PI2003...go to...
Effects / Paintbrush / Freehand Painting / AirBrush.
(same basics for other versions of Picture It)

Choose a dark color, I seem to have good luck with black.

Enlarge (zoom) the image so the eyes are predominant
on the screen.

Choose a brush size that fits the pupil as closely as possible.

At Customize...Choose "Soft Edge" for your Brush Shape
and drag the slider to 60 or even 70.

(now click the little triangle at the bottom to go back to the
painting screen)

Now, three or four clicks on each eye should make a nice
improvement. if you don't like the result...click "reset" and
try again...maybe even with a different color.

If the white highlight (sparkle) in the eye is covered, use you
clone painting tool to replace it. (There's always something
in an image that will provide some white)

>Larry,
I have experienced exactly the same problem. I found
painting the eyes black unsatisfactory - they looked
flat. I happened to download downloaded Paint Shop Pro 7
trial & found it does animal eyes. Also you can add
a 'glint' which makes the eyes look moist & alive. I
tried alot of progs but this beat all. I ended up buying.

I didn't suggest simply painting the eyes black, it's a little
more involved than that.

Here's a before and after example of my method.
