For downloading messages:

While in a newsgroup: View | Current View. Make sure Show All Messages and
Group Messages By Conversation are checked.

Tools | Options | Read. Uncheck: Get XXX headers at a time. Then, right
click on the newsgroup in the Folder Tree | Properties | Local File | Reset.
Switch to another folder and then back and all available messages will be
downloaded again.

My personal preference is to disregard synchronizing and rather have OE
check for news when it checks for mail. Tools | Accounts | News. Check: "
Include this account...........".

To see just your posts:

View | Current View: Show All Messages and Group Messages By Conversation
will show all messages on the server. Ctrl+H keys will toggle to show only
posts that you are involved in. A shortcut to Show Replies To My Messages.

For saving:

You can drag an entire thread to a folder on the Desktop, but when you open
it, each post has to be opened separately.

You can also do a Google and save the link. I believe this is from you?

You can use TinyURL to make that link smaller, lie this:

To answer your last question, while in normal OE mail (not Newsgroups) click
on File...New...Folder. A window will pop up asking where to place that
new folder. I choose Local Folder which makes a new folder that will be
listed when I look at folders. You can name it Saved News Emails (or
whatever).

Now when you're in Newsgroups and you find an email you want to save, right
click it, choose Copy to Folder and select that new folder. Voila!

I do it in a similar manner for regular emails I want to save. And in
normal mail when you right click an email you have the choice to Copy to or
Move to another folder. I made a folder named Web Stuff Ordered. When I
order something on the Internet and receive a confirmation email I move it
to that folder. Helps keep track of things. Quite frequently they will
have a order tracking number and where to check. Nice to have that saved.

Thanks Bruce, for all your help! One thing, when I download the messages in
OE and toggle Ctrl + H, I don't see my messages, in fact, all the messages
disappear! Is there anything I'm doing incorrectly? Thanks in advance.

It will show the threads you've posted in with the email address you have
set for that account, not for the one you use here.

Do not reply with email

Did you reply to any of these messages that disappear?

If Ctrl+H leaves you with no messages, then either you have no posts that
you are involved in, or something is wacky with your keyboard. If I do it,
every thread disappears except the ones I have responded to.

Frank,

When I toggle Ctrl+H all the messages disappear. When I do a search for
"sheana" in the "From" field, I get a list of messages that I wrote. Is there
a setting in OE that is causing the problem, or am I having a stupid attack?

You're posting via the clunky Web interface, not Outlook Express. If you
posted using OE, then Ctrl+H would work.

Look in OE at Tools, Accounts, News, Properties, General, e-mail
address. For a post to be considered as yours, the From address in the
post must contain that e-mail address.

Frank,

My OE is configured for Cox email, and I login to this newsgroup using a
hotmail address. What is the email address that I use here? When I click on
"user profile" I don't see an address listed.

I opened one of the messages in OE and hit the "Reply" button, but it wants
to use my Cox email address to reply, which I won't do.

Bruce,
Can you tell me what phrase you "Googled" to get that link? Thanks.

According to your headers you are using a browser to read this newsgroup,
not Outlook Express, and you have told the website not to include your
address.
