Can't you open the address book without OE even being involved? WAB.EXE
is the executable and the data is in the *wab file.

Probably not what you wanted though because anything over the limit will

Purchased a new laptop directly from HP. Spent two days trying to fond
OLE only to find out that Windows 7 doesn't come with an email program
and won't accept OLE from other sources. Downloaded Windows Live but
haven't figured out what to do with it. I am really pissed. I am 67
years old and my wife is 72. Don't have enough time to be jerked around

reject it at the time of the submission and not afterward so the sender gets

The only option in OE would be the break apart option which would break
a larger message into multiple posts. And I'm guessing that's not what
you want to encourage since its purpose is to get around size limits.
I'm not aware of any new reader that would limit the size of posts.
That's left up to the news server to reject posts.

That was introduced by the annexcafe newsgroups. Very simple answer. Limit yourself
to posting under 500kb. If you really need to then post separate posts

It might also be worth adding that Microsoft has come in for so much stick
when it bundled applications with Windows that I am not surprised it dropped
the mail app as bundled item. The OP seems to have forgotten that
competition authorities in the US and EU have fined MS millions.
See what happened with the browser.

I made it, I am happy, I finally made it...after 2 long months scratching my
head and hesitate to change to use my new laptop without 3 years old
messages there.
Now I understand folders.dbx is a dbx file comprising many of my over 20 big
monthly dbx files there (fromm 2007 till now every month)
each file is over 400 megabytes meaning about 10 gigabytes in the total dbx
