Configure your NNTP server to limit the size of a submission (and to &lt;br&gt; reject it at the time of the submission and not afterward so the sender gets &lt;br&gt; *immediate* notification in their NNTP client of the rejection). &lt;br&gt; Based on your past posts, you are NOT the co-moderator of a newsgroup.   The only option in OE would be the break apart option which would break &lt;br&gt; a larger message into multiple posts. And I&#39;m guessing that&#39;s not what &lt;br&gt; you want to encourage since its purpose is to get around size limits. &lt;br&gt; I&#39;m not aware of any new reader that would limit the size of posts. &lt;br&gt; That&#39;s left up to the news server to reject posts.

  That was introduced by the annexcafe newsgroups. Very simple answer. Limit yourself &lt;br&gt; to posting under 500kb. If you really need to then post separate posts

  It might also be worth adding that Microsoft has come in for so much stick &lt;br&gt; when it bundled applications with Windows that I am not surprised it dropped &lt;br&gt; the mail app as bundled item. The OP seems to have forgotten that &lt;br&gt; competition authorities in the US and EU have fined MS millions. &lt;br&gt; See what happened with the browser.
