I am having two problems with Outlook Express on my desktop.
When replying to mail I get a solid bar running along the left
edge. The existing text does not get " <" inserted although it
is clearly selected in the options. Any added text gets the bar
also so there is nothing to differentiate added text.
Cutting and pasting from Visual Studio or Notepad mangles
formatting and indentation. Blank lines are inserted and
indentation is sometimes ignored. Also, fonts of inserted text
seems random and impossible to change.
I am running Outlook Express 6 under XP Pro SP3. My supposedly
identically set up laptop does not exhibit these problems.
Googling didn't help.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary
Tools | Options | Send. In HTML Settings, uncheck: Indent messages on
reply and no quote line will be used. In Plain Text Settings, select to
indent on reply using the > character.
Note: Mail & News settings are separate.
On that same page, there is an option to reply in the same format. Your
choice, but I like it checked so I don't change the formatting.
