Attaching to email

drive. During the process I had to replace/repair Windows XP and now
windows seems to be doing just fine. Outlook Express also seems to work
just fine.
But I am not able to attach Word 2002 documents nor Photoshop Elements
images to email any more. For example, in Word I try File > Send To > Mail
Recipient (As Attachment) and I get an error.
Both give me error messages and depending on which program I try the
messages read:
Adobe Photoshop Elements error message:
It is necessary to log on or establish an e-mail account
within your mail program before you can attach to e-mail.
Microsoft Word error message:
Logon failed. You must log on to Microsoft Exchange to access
your address book. Error code: "Unspecified error".
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

I can't find KB911567 anywhere in my "Add/Remove Programs" list, even with
"show updates" checked. I do find it when I did a search of my computer but
I don't want to just delete it. Suggestions are very welcome.

Did you find a list of Windows XP updates?
Here are links to additional information on the update (KB911567) that has
caused some problems with the Windows Address Book for some users. If found,
the update can be uninstalled and reinstalled later if that's your choice.
It would be most helpful to know if the update has caused the issue you're
experiencing before considering other possibilities.

There are no "Security Updates" listed. I've checked 4 or 5 times, now, and
can NOT find that Security Update. Sorry, PA Bear. I'm not angry, just
frustrated!

administrator. Searching for "Supninst.exe" gave me a large page of
results, none of which contained the string 'KB911567'. I searched looking
for the string "%Windir%\$NTUninstalKB911567$\Spuninst folder" and the
Search program returned an error saying that string referred to a location
that is unavailable. I don't know where to look for this program. I even
looked for the string "KB911567" and of the three locations where it
appeared, there was no "Uninstal" string that appeared.
Further, looking at the 'source' - the referenced link, I don't see mention
made of this uninstall program. So, I'm back to ground zero after doing
some interesting reading.
Again, assistance would be appreciated.

I performed #2 and sought #1. In the C:\WINDOWS folder there are a bunch of
$NtUninstallKBxxxxx$ programs but none for KB911567.
During the rebuild, we did nothing extraordinary which would place it
somewhere else or delete it. Is it available from Microsoft? I'm totally
frustrated. Your continued assistance is appreciated!

Options > General where the option is (still) greyed out and I have no
ability to modify it. So, I girded up my loin-cloth and modified
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. There was no DLLPath value in the registry so I added
it as per your link. Now, both Word and Photoshop work as advertised!
