in outlook 2003 I was able to move back and forth between my in box and
emails that I was composing (multitasker). I just bnought Outlook 2007 and am
unable to do this without saving it as a draft. any solutions?

How are you opening the new mail window? In both versions, if you use the
File, Send to menu in any application, you need to save as a draft then
reopen in order to move around. If you open it from within outlook, you
won't have this problem.
