Need Date Stamp for Task Notes

I just finished installing Outlook 2k and while the toolbar customization is
much improved I was hoping they would finally include the Date Stamp button
that is available on the Word 2k toolbar. I am constantly manually typing in
the date as I keep a running log of changes to the task.

Can this be done programmatically and if so is there some sample code I
could view?
