Unable to install Ofc Std 2007 in new machine with Vista 64 bit OS. Ofc disk
loads and contents of disk displays. Click on setup and get error message:
"failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect." Trial
version of Office Home/Student installed by OEM deleted prior to attempt to
install Ofc Std 2007.

Did you delete the old version or uninstall it? Did you reboot?

I believe it’s a vc+ error. Try this;
Start menu, Run, type in: (it may work in the start menu start search field
too)
sfc /scannow
Click OK.

Diane - I entered sfc /scannow in Run. A popup box flashed on screen but did
not remain. Nothing happened. Also did this in start menu start search
field with the same result.
