Downloaded the Beta on Wednesday - any email since then, Outlook has only
DL'd the header from my POP3 account.

I'm missing an awful lot of data here, any help?

The problem is apparently caused by virus scanners. Disable AV scanning of
emails and you'll be able to read new messages. As for any that have already
been scanned, OL can't render them correctly for some reason. It's something
that really needs to be sorted out.

Running client side virus scanners that integrate with Outlook? Disable that
integration and try again. Especially when running AVG.

You might need to redownload your items to view the body as they were
stripped by the scanner.

Emails haven't been stripped by the virus scanner, only permanently modified
with information saying they've been scanned and their contents are perfectly
intact. No amount of redownloading will make OL show what's in them - it
seems incapable of showing virus-scanned emails for some reason.

If the items were save on the server then downloading them again should
certainly allow the message to be read provided email scanning is disabled.

I have the same problem of not being able to view the message but can read
headers. Same problem but solution did not work. I turned off real time and
snooozed the program also. Still can not open a single message. Still
getting the ""Message with restricted permissions cannot be viewed in reading
pane until you verify credentials.
Open item to read contents"....

I can not open a single email received from the server. Nor can I send out
messages. They just sit there and ignore the send button... I am not using
"permissions" and the emails are sent by me as a test and can be read just
fine using using Thunderbird. Any more suggestions???

What antivirus scanner do you have installed?
Does it have email integration enabled?

I am using AV from computer associates other wise know at EZ Anti-Virus. It
has real time email scanning, but I disabled it yesterday and still no help.
So NO is the answer to your question now.

See if disabling all add-ins helps.

Hello - sorry for joining in late. I have had the same problem where emails
I've opened and read recently were tagged with the same error "... open the
message to verify credentials..." After reading this thread and the advise
to disable all add-ins, I tried exiting Google Desktop as I had just added a
few gadgets immediately before the issue started occurring. So far the
problem has not happened again - limited data point as I've only tried this
for an hour or so, but before I would only be able to read 2-5 emails before
they all got locked out.

Hope this helps.
