Empty Word Window in OL2003

I have an empty MS Word window that is always there when I have Outlook 2003
open. Sometimes I can close it, other times it won't close and I just have
to live with it minimized.

This is nothing fatal, just weird. Yes I use Word as my email editor, but
sheesh, this seems pretty kludgy, even for MS Office :)

Any ideas? Thx.

Try turning the option for Word as the email editor off, then close Outlook.
After closing Outlook go to the Task Manager and make sure both Outlook and
Word (ms word) are closed, i.e. not running.

Then go back to Outlook and make Word the default again. And the result is?
