I have followed above instructions, but I still cannot get Japanese contact
index to show up. I have installed East Asian languages (in "Regional and
Language option) which includes Japanese. I also added Japanese support on
"Office Language setting".

Although I don't see any Japanese contact index, I see other languages such
as Thai and Greek which I have not installed nor enabled.

I really need to use Japanese contact index, since my contact entries are
growing rapidly.

You must have Japanese Outlook for this to work.

Thanks for your help. I have upgraded to office 2007 and bought Japanese
language pack. I can show all my menu and help in Japanese. BUT, I still
cannot get an option to show "Japanese contact index". Is this a bug??

No, it is not a bug. It is simply unavailable in your version of Office/Outlook.

Adding Japanese support is NOT the same as having a Japanese version of Office/Outlook. This is available only with the Japanese version of Office/Outlook as I previously stated.

If you want this capability, you will need to purchase a Japanese Office/Outlook..
