After creating a Notebook, I changed its name. I know the
underlying folder name in Windows remains unchanged. I would like to
change the name of the Windows folder to correspond to the actual name
of the Notebook as renamed.

Will this 'confuse' OneNote -- and cause a possible file corruption
or interfere with backup?

If you want to do this then you should:
1. Close the notebook in OneNote
2. Go to the file system and change the name of the folder
3. Open the folder in the new location

There should be it.

Thank you. Your instructions were clear except for #3. It was not
clear whether 'open' meant from ON (File | Open) or from Explorer. I
could see the renamed folder from Open in ON, but I could not find a
way to open it there.

I then tried opening from Explorer. I had considerable difficulty
there, too. It was not a simple matter of double clicking -- or
'open' the renamed folder. After trying many things, I found the
following worked: I got the "Section" names to show up in Explorer and
then opened just one of them. ON opened (I had closed it, but not
sure if such was necessary or not) and the renamed folder was in the
list of Notebooks and all the sections were there.

I accomplished what I wanted. Thanks for your help.

BTW,I have XP(sp3) if that makes any difference in the procedure.
