I have a Vista pc using MS Office XP/2002 and am not aware of any Office
2007 components on my machine.

However, Windows update often offers me updates for Office 2007 (as well as
those for Office XP) such as the two that arrived today - KB956828 &
KB958439.

Can anyone tell me why this happens please - and how I can stop if?

Thanks,

V

Perhaps you installed the viewer for docx files? Open Control Panel >
Add or Remove Programs, check the box to show updates and see if you
have entries under "Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office system".

If you installed the Office 2007 Computability Utility you will see updates
for office 2007 and you should do the updates because they are for this
utility.
