I rebooted and still see the 'update icon' in the Task Bar saying click to
download...but again a failed install.
I run CCleaner to clean the reg, and then download Office 2003 SP2 from the
Windows Catalogue - Kb 887616-client-enu.exe
I click to run this .exe
I am prompted for the original Install disk for FrontPage, and I put this in
the CD Drive, and the install goes OK for FrontPage.
Then a Office Small Business Edition 2003 Window pops up, goes throughthe
install until I get an error message:
"Error 1328. Error applying patech to file C:\ConfigMsi\PT21C.tmp. It
probably has been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by
this patch. For more info contact the patch vendor".
I was given an option to 'Retry' -no good retrying. I was given an option to
'Ignore' - still no good. I then had toclick on 'Cancel' to get out of the
error.
I rebooted [and checked FrontPage 2003>About, and it now reads SP2, so I
think this part of the Office 2003 SP2 Upade worked]. I did a Office 2003
'Detect and Repair' and all is OK there. I tried again with the install but
this time it stopped the install with the error message:
"Error 1328. Error applying patech to file C:\ConfigMsi\PT46.tmp. It
probably has been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by
this patch. For more info contact the patch vendor".
Another clean install attempt resulted in the following error:
""Error 1328. Error applying patech to file C:\ConfigMsi\PT10D.tmp. It
probably has been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by
this patch. For more info contact the patch vendor".
Any help in resloving this issue very greatly received!

Same problem here with Office 2003 SP2. Tried twice to install after
the automatic download occurred. XP Pro SP1
help........
I resolved it by downloading the FULL (106 mb) manual install file
Office2003SP2-KB887616-FullFile-ENU.exe
The install required both the Front Page and Office 2003 Pro CD's
during the process, but all is well now.
(it would have been nice if the automatic download process would have
just prompted to install the CD.)

The install went perfectly, no glitches and all Office software now saying
SP2 has been applied.
