ms-word fragments

Hi,

I would like to know if there is a way of saving ms-word fragments
(keeping the formatting, the lists, the fields) into either an excel
sheet or a db?

I guess the question is:
1) can I view an ms-word document's source
2) can I rebuild a document from various source fragment
... easily :-)
