Approximately 2 days after installing Entourage on my Powerbook G3
"Wallstreet" edition, I started getting the Error -113 upon opening
Entourage, which is a failure while loading the program, hence the
program quits before opening.

- installed the update of Office, no improvement.

- updated the OS X, no improvement.

- switched the start-up disk to OS 9.1, still received Error -113.

- reinstalled OS 9.1, Entourage opened twice cleanly and then returned
to the Error -113.

- updated OS 9.1 to 9.2, Entourage stubbornly refuses to open.

- reinstalled the Entourage program, but the Error still remains.

- hold down "ctrl" "option" "apple" while launching and occasionally I
get a clean load, but more often than not...it gives me the -113
launching error.

According to the Apple error database, the error means "Address in zone
check failed" and is listed as a "Storage Allocator Error".

I really don't have any more clue what options are left. Has anyone had
this problem? Even better, has anyone SOLVED this problem?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Have you checked out your disk with Disk First Aid? This sounds like it
could be a hardware failure issue.

David,

I did do a run with Disk First Aid and came up clean without problems.
I have about thrown the towel in on this. I get a much better
percentage opening Entourage with the "ctrl" "option" "Apple" buttons
depressed now, but that is hardly a solution. I'm going to back
everything up and reformat the drive, reinstall software and see if that
solves the problem.

I agree that it seems to be more an Apple problem than Entourage, though
it is funny that only Entourage seems affected.

Thanks for your response. It gets lonely thinking that I am the only
person to have this problem. I was hoping that everyone was having
it...and, hence, would have found a solution.

Oh well, some friends always did say I was unique...
