Ik heb een laptop en doe altijd netjes mijn updates van windows. Een tijdje
geleden kon ik na een update bepaalde oudere programma's niet meer gebruiken.
Dit was nog te overzien, maar sinds die tijd heb ik een SVCHOST.EXE in mijn
taakbeheer die zeer regelmatig mijn werkgeheugen verbruikt!
In normale toestand gebruikt deze svchost gemiddeld tussen de 40.000 en
60.000 kB. Maar zeer regelmatig gaat mijn laptop 'blazen' en op volle toeren
draaien waardoor ik niets meet kan doen en schiet deze svchost minimaal naar
de 100.000 kB. En dan schiet de CPU naar de 99%.
Nu na een aantal updates van windows heb ik hem nog steeds! en zoals jullie
zullen begrijpen is dit behoorlijk iritant als je met de computer aan het
werk bent.

Mijn vraag is: Wat doet deze SVCHOST? en kan ik hem ook uitzetten?

Ik hoop dat iemand mij kan helpen voordat ik mijn laptop uit het raam gooi!!!

Hieronder wat mij ervan verlost heeft:

Probleem: svchost neemt regelmatig gedurende vele minuten bijna 100% CPU
tijd.
Had the same problem on a clean install low-end system. The cause of
the problem turned out to be "Microsoft Update" (i.e., the successor to
"Windows Update").
I used 3 steps to permanently solve the problem.
First, I disabled Automatic Updates on the computer. This solved the
problem of the 100% cpu so I could continue to work on the system
without any interference.
The second step was to go online to update.microsoft.com and choose
"Change Settings" and then select "To stop using Microsoft Update" at
the bottom of the page and check the box "Disable Microsoft Update
software and let me use Windows Update only".
After completing that procedure, I was able to re-enable Automatic
Updates (step 3) and no longer had any problem with svchost.exe or
wuauclt.exe maxing out the system's cpu resources.

Hope this post is helpful to others experiencing this very frustrating
issue.

Ik dacht in eerste instantie dat het een virus was, maar controleer
regelmatig mijn computer en had nu twee programma's laten controleren. dus
daar zat het probleem gelukkig niet.
