When I let WMP10 search a folder containing music files a folder
"Unknown Artist" is created and music titles are listed in it. My
question is why foler(s) by artist name(s) is not created instead. The
properties of the files in the folder show artist names and music
titles in them. How can I let WMP10 create folders by Artist's names?

That is the Album Artist name for those tracks. It sounds like you would
want to set Album Artist for these files.

You should set the Album Artist field for these files. =)

I do not see in the Properties of the file, field named as "Album Aritist"

I have this problem with every wma encoded files except one album. I
have compared files in this excekptional album and others but could not
see difference that may be a clue to solve the problem. Note that there
is no such problem with any mp3 encoded file.

How are you viewing "Properties"? Different tools/methods would give you
different results.

Launch Windows Explorer, open a folder where the media files are,
right-click on one in a list and click Properties.

Is there any other Properties? I am aware that in stead of editing the
Propertiers I can use "Edit Tag" in the context menu but availabe entry
fields in it do not inlude "Album Artist".

Ah, no, you can't edit it from there. You *can* edit it within WMP's
library. That particular dialog only exposes (Contributing) Artist, not
Album Artist.

I have related questions as follows:

1) Is there a way to edit tag of media files outside of WMP to have the
same effect when the files are loaded to the library? I have a wraptop
PC where I want WMP library arranged in the same way as my primary
desktop PC. The suggested solution means I have to repeat the time
consuming editting process.

2) As an alternative, is there a way to manually created Alubum Artist
folders, and move around the listed music titles by cut-and-paste?

3) As another alternative, is there a way to copy a library of a WMP to
another WMP?

1: That doesn't make sense: how would the new method be less effective?
Just copy the file with the new information in it. Or if it's the same
file, the library should pick up the change.

2: I haven't looked into.

3: Yeah, just copy the files in question. =)

I do not quite understand the above.
I now understand that I have to fill the Album Artist field with a name
of artist in order for WMP to create a folder by that name in WMP's
library. Your suggestion means doing this with WMP after the files are
loaded in the WMP. This means I have to repeat the same thing when I
let WMP on a different PC search the same foler. My question is if there
is a way to do the same tag editing directly to the media files or
before loading them into the WMP thereby avoiding repetition of the
above tag editing.

Maybe you misunderstood my question. MY question is if there is a way to
copy entire library contents of WMP on one PC system to that on another
PC system.

Here is what I have just found: If ripping is done with mp3 format,
then when they are loaded into WMP a folder of artist name under Album
Artist is created which is exactly what I want. Even in this case I
noticed that the Album Artist field is left blank as when WMA format is
specified. Another word, if I want format to be wma, then after loading
the ripped media files into WMA I have to edit one by one to add Album
Artist name. I wonder why wma files need Album Artist fields filled and
mp3 files do not.

No - because WMP number 1 would update the file, and thus when WMP number 2
looks at the same file, it'll find the new value.

Yeah, WMP directly edits the file.

The library contents are the files themselves. If the files are the same,
the library will be the same.

This is IT! I was not aware of this. Thank you so much about your
enlightening me about WMP.
