Desktop Search Favorites Problem

I have just installed the Desktop Search and it has finished indexing but has not indexed my Internet Favorites even though the index url is ticked. I haven't changed any default settings.

how do I get rid of the live search? I don't want it and can't stand it. int. 6.0 windows xp thank you. There is no listing for it in the Control Panel Add/Remove programs.
