MSN Calendar is no longer the default Calendar within MSN Explorer. I get a
screen that says Windows live calendar isn't compatible with my browser.
Continue without converting. Is there an updated version of MSN Explorer that
resolves this issue or can I go back to using MSN Calendar within MSN
Explorer.

MSN Calendar customers—come on over! (6/17/2009)

It’s almost moving time! We’ve been busy getting Windows Live Calendar ready
for when we move all MSN Calendar customers over to the new and improved
service on Windows Live.

Over the coming months, we will be moving all existing MSN Calendar
customers over to Windows Live Calendar. The move will be gradual, that is,
not everyone will see their calendars change on the same day.

Reminder: MSN Calendar users being moved to Windows Live Calendar
(2/25/2009)

If you are an MSN Calendar user and have not yet moved over to using Windows
Live Calendar, the following is an important update announcement. By now you
should have also received one or more e-mail messages from the Calendar team
about this update.

I appreciate the information. I too read this, however, I am using MSN
Explorer and according to what I read live calendar is not compatible with
this application. Basically what I'm reading is that I should move away from
MSN and move towards Internet Explorer. I was trying to avoid this because
MSN was a bit easier when it came down to email and calendaring.

The Live Calendar is available in two forms
1. Logon at calendar.live.com with your Live ID
2. Use the same Live ID to logon to Windows Live in Windows Live Mail, it will sync with the web calendar and make it available
locally.

Lacking any info from MSn, it appears there is a disconnect for Msn Explorer users(if you can't access the Live Calendar in that
software)

Both Teams..the Live Team the Calendar Team blogs show no mention of MSN Explorer.

If MSN Premium(Explorer) is not capable of accessing Windows Live(based on your earlier input)....Since you are using MSn
Explorer(if not version 7, the only non subscription version) you should have access to MSN support. It might be best to contact
them and ask one simple question. Will the next version of MSN Explorer/Premium have the ability to access the Live Calendar
- If that answer is 'No', then you might consider one of 2 things...Find something to replace MSN Explorer or use the web
interface...

I can see the Windows Live Calendar page from MSN Explorer, but the Calendar
and Task sections of the Dashboard are not regularly updated, if at all, by
changes to that calendar. I guess this demonstrates how little support MSN
Explorer receives anymore.

I suspect that has a lot to do with the latest MSN version pre-dating the rtw release of the calendar since the MSN calendar was a
functional calendar; Msn's last and current version may also pre-date the Live Calendar beta.

Only Msft(who occasionally posts in this forum) is able to provide whether or not Msft is considering an update that will handle
the Live Calendar in the next Msn Version.
- The current is 9.6, and been out for a while, while interim versions(auto-upgrade to 9.x) have occurred, historically
significant changes have changed the first number. The next most likely, if released, could be MSN 10(who knows they might go like
other products and give it a calendar year/build designator MSN Version 2010 Build 10.x [or later
:) ]

I hope you find a solution, especially if you have vested a lot of time in MSn Explorer.

Greetings,

The MSN Calendar uses an older DAV protocol server which is being shut down
in the very near future. For that reason, the calendar in MSN 9.6 has been
updated to point to the Windows Live Calendar.

The issue that you are seeing is not expected, and if you could email me at
my microsoft.com account (beritb), we would like to figure out why you are
seeing this error message.

Thank you,

Hi Robert,

The dashboard appointments are linked to the MSN Calendar server, and thus
cannot detect changes made to the Windows Live Calendar.

The changes to the calendar are due to the older DAV protocol servers being
shut down in the near future.

We are currently working on the next release of MSN Explorer, and will be
addressing the issues caused by this change, along with implementing some new
features.

Take care,

I also can not get the updates and alerts on the dashbord. Having the Windows
live calendar and the MSN dashboard linked would be useful and helpful. This
posting was also helpful, now I know what is going on with the calendar and
the dashboard and the new version of MSN Explorer.
Thank You

I use msn explorer for my email and calendar. The msn calendar has
automatically converted to the windows live version. ( I too prefered the msn
version). I am also using Vista. maybe yours will soon convert too.

Noticed yesterday I stopped getting the Windows Live screen that says my
browser isn't compatible when I click calendar on the toolbar and new Windows
Live Calendar is appearing as it should. All of my data from the Msn
calendar was successfully transferred and merged.

My husband and I are very hopeful that the dashboard will be updated in the next version. We depend on it and have really missed it being automatically updated as appointments are added.
