So, now I need a viable replacement. I've looked at Google's, which I think
is weak, but it will probably fit my need better than the new MS piece of
junk. I looked at Yahoo's awhile ago, but not recently. I guess I now need
to check that one as well.
Has anyone found a viable alternative ? I really need to find something
soon. TIA.
To MS: don't you realize what a great product you just threw away ?
Did you read any of the other posts here?
The "Alternatives to the Portfolio Manager Preview" thread is one
pair of choices, but other threads may offer others/
All I have to say is, "You da MAN !!!". Thanks very, very much.
Before I posted this thread, I did see your thread. And I thought your
alternatives looked too convoluted. I was really looking for something more
straightforward.
However, after your reply to this thread, I took another look look at your
thread. It didn't look so bad upon a second look. So, I followed your
instruction and download and installed the MSN Money Trial. And wah-la, the
Portfolio Manager is back with all my data !!!! Your solution is actually
very straightforward.
Going forward, I'm little confused on the options. Will Portfolio Manager
be available in a Quicken or Microsoft Money product beyond Jan 2011 ? Is it
available in a Quicken product now ?
Thanks again Cal. I'm one very happy camper to have the Portfolio Manager
back !

Note that is Microsoft Money, not MSN Money. I know that sounds
picky, but MSN Money was something else.

Your timeframe is that that trial will expire. You will want to
convert to Quicken before that trial expires if you don't want to
buy Microsoft Money Plus Deluxe. If you buy Microsoft Money Plus
Deluxe, then you could use that as long as you want (with less
functionality after Jan 2011), or you could convert to Quicken at
some point. I don't know if you can convert to Quicken with an
expired Money trial version.

Between using Money Plus Deluxe to use thru January 2011 and maybe
moving to Quicken thereafter, or buying Quicken now? Hard to say.
I will try both.
