bills no longer appear in bills summary

A couple of my standing orders no longer appear in the Bills Summary page.
They are, however, still registered because when I look at the cash flow
forecast, the transactions show up in the list of future transactions.
However, when I try to right click on them to edit the series, nothing
happens.
Any suggestions on how to make the missing orders re-appear on the Bills
Summary page?
I have tried running the file repair utility.

Easy but frustrating solution:
Delete the recurring transaction and recreate it as a bill. Wonder
forever why the problem came up.
Tough but satisfying solution:
Dig around for hours and hours until you determine that "something
about that transaction" was corrupted, delete it, and recreate it as a
bill. Feel justified that you did everything you could.
Fall back and punt solution:
Restore a backup made before the problem arose. Re-enter transactions
that have occured since then.
