Online Banking Problems

The main reason I purchased MONEY was because my credit union is on
the net, and their page is set up with Microsoft MONEY ActiveStatement
capability which automatically downloads the statement and imports it into
MONEY. After getting MONEY, however, I also decided to start paying my bills
online using Visa ePay. The only problem is, both of these functions will not
work simultaneously on my single checking account. Here is what happens:

(1) I purchased MONEY and installed it. I went through the online services
wizard, entered the routing number, or whatever that is for my credit union,
and it dialed a number and then came back and told me that my bank did not
offer online services at this time (which isn't true). It offered to set up
online bill payment, so I went through that and then it told me to quit and
come back when I had received my ePay password, etc. OK. So far so good.

(2) While waiting for my ePay password, I visited my credit untions site
and downloaded an ActiveStatement (they DO have online banking!). It worked.
The info went into MONEY and it the account was automatically changed on the
home banking screen to show that it was activated for Online Banking.

(3) I got my ePay password. Started the wizard to set it up, and it goes
to the wrong screens, assuming that I will be connecting to my bank on the
internet. In fact, when it comes to the screen where you choose online banking
or online bill payment, BILL PAYMENT was dimmed out, I could not select it. I
had to disable the online banking function in order to go through the wizard
correctly and enable online bill payment.

(4) Now if I try to get an ActiveStatement again, it ends up asking me
which account I want to apply this to. When I choose the only account I have
set up, it says that account is already set-up and won't let me cancel. It
forces me to create another account.

I know this probably makes no sense to anyone else reading it, but it
looks like if I want to continue to use online bill payment, and not have to
go through the complete set up process each time I transmit some payments, I
cannot download any ActiveStatements.

I just tried to send some more payments this evening (I have been
successful before), but the same thing happened. I downloaded an
ActiveStatement a few days ago and ended up having to go and remove the online
banking function from my account and set up the online bill payment AGAIN.

At this point, I just plan on forgetting about the ActiveStatements
and just using my account for online bill payment. I guess I'll just have to
click the transactions off by hand.

Has anyone else experienced such a problem?

Hi there,

Instead of disabling Online Banking, during the Online setup, when you get
to the screen that includes the Advanced button, click the Advanced button
and change Online Bill Payment to Bank Settings 2 (leave Online banking on
Bank Settings 3), then see if you can finish the setup.

If this doesn't work then delete the folder that refers to you Credit
Union, restart Money, go through the online setup to setup Online Bill
payment, then try to access your statement:

1. Exit Money
2. Delete the USA########## folder that refers to your Credit Union:
a. Click Start, point to Programs, click Windows Explorer
b. Open the Money folder (usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money)
c. Open the System sub-folder, then the BDS sub-folder
d. Find the USA### folder where the number is your Credit Union's
routing number.
e. Delete that folder
f. Close Windows Explorer
3. Restart Money
4. Go through Online Setup to setup your account for Online Bill payment
through Visa ePay
5. Then connect to your Credit Union's web site and download (and open) the
Active Statement. If the Active Statement if formatted properly, it should
not remove the settings for Bill payment, it should only update the Online
Banking settings and enable the Statement tab in Home Banking.

Hope this helps.
