I have a customer facing following issue.

Customer has MS Money Essential which he purchased online & is not able to
restore a file of Money Plus in Money Essential. He is looking for support on
his issue.

There is not MS money support available in India.

Can anyone help in resolving above issue. Please assist.

Thanks,
Jagdeep

Money Essentials (MEss) is widely documented as being so essential it won't
upgrade files from other editions of Money. Your customer wanted Money Plus
Deluxe.

Return Essentials and get Money Deluxe.

Is theer any workaround or any url which confirms the same.
Basically i need to go back to customer with some infiormation.

Thanks ahead,

From
http://www.microsoft.com/money/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=002&active_tab=Compare
at the bottom:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Important note – Microsoft Money Essentials will not be able to
open previous Money (Money Deluxe, Money Premium, or Money Home &
Business) or Quicken files. If you are upgrading from a previous
version of Money or Quicken, Money Plus Deluxe may be the right
solution for you.

Now that I read your post closer and more awake, I see the restor Plus into
Essentials angle. I'm not sure of a link that will tell you that this won't
work. M(prior to +) to Essentials file upgrade is what I was pursuing. But
the MEss vs. other editions file compatibility is almost surely a problem.
It's just a different app with the same name.

You can see the statement "* Important note – Microsoft Money Essentials

will not be able to open previous Money (Money Deluxe, Money Premium, or
Money Home & Business) or Quicken files. If you are upgrading from a previous
version of Money or Quicken, Money Plus Deluxe may be the right solution for

you." at the bottom of page

I agree this doesn't address explicitly the ability to open an M+Deluxe file
or restore from an M+Deluxe backup file in MEss. But I'd strongly suspect the
answer is the same.
